Abstract The internal damping elements of existing floating energy-dissipating anti-collision devices generally use rubber fenders. The selection and design of rubber fenders play a key role in the anti-collision performance of the entire anti-collision device. This article explains the impact of Numerical simulation based on an idealized model of the cargo ship's collision and anti-collision device analyzed the effects of the number of fenders and the hardness of the rubber material on the buffering performance of the rubber fender. The study showed that the buffering and energy-absorbing effect of the rubber fender depends on the overall integrity of the fender. Stiffness, which is proportional to the number of fenders and the hardness of the rubber material respectively
