Cylinder type rubber fender
Cylinder type fenders are mainly hung at the front edge of the pier, arranged in one or two rows. There are two commonly used hanging methods. One is to use a long iron chain to pass through the cylinder, and the two ends are tied to the embedded rings on the bank wall. The other is to use an iron rod to pass through the cylinder, with short ends at both ends of the iron rod. The iron chain is tied to the embedded ring. Since the flexible iron chain is suspended in a catenary shape, the contact area between the cylindrical fender suspended by the long iron chain and the chain is prone to deformation, which reduces the service life of the rubber cylinder, but the chain is easy to replace. Some ports add a thinner and longer auxiliary chain during use. When the main chain is broken, it can be detected and updated in time to prevent the fender from falling into the water and being difficult to find. Although the hanging method using iron rods is more complicated, the working conditions of cylindrical fenders are relatively reasonable and they can roll properly, so they are also widely used.
